wills, regarding parent to children
My question is, my mother needs advice on how to proceed with her father giving her and her sisters one property which he owns in Mexico, he is the only one listed as sole owner and my mom or her sisters cannot get their father to go resolve this issue and change property owners to indicate them as heirs, due to fact that he is too weak to travel and under Dr’s care. Can my mom have him sign a general power of attorney indicating that the property would belong to his daughters in case he dies? or what forms are legal and needed to guarantee they become sole heirs for that one and only property in Mexico. My grandfather is widowoer and doesn’t have a will here in the U.S. or Mexico. Your attention in helping resolve this issue is greatly appreciated. Re: wills, regarding parent to children
You are going to need to contact a Mexican attorney to help you handle this. I have some limited familiarity with the legal process in Mexico and it tends to be different than ours. I could assist you in finding a lawyer in Mexico if you desire. Please e-mail as to city and state of property if you desire assistance. Thank you
