what does indemnity mean?

what does indemnity mean?
My sister and i owned the house our mother lived in. Our mother tried to illegally sell the house without our knowledge. When we found out, a whole mess started. We had to have their contracts amended. Now, the new owner of the house pays the mortage, while my sister and my name still remains on the deed. This was an UNWILLING agreement. however, the mortage company is now telling me the current owner of the house has not paid the mortage in months, and now its in foreclosure status! On the contract, it says ”buyer shall agree to imdemnify seller for loss or damage” etc. What does this mean? Can I use this to protect myself and my sister?? I don’t have the resources to sue, but can I use this ”indemnity” clause on the contract for my benefit? Someone told me I can sue the new owner. I dont have the money to hire a lawyer to sue anyone, but I need this fixed, because I feel they (my mother) are going to once again illegally use my name and social to drag me thru the mud. Please help me!! Thank you!

Unclaimed Money ”IN TRUST FOR” My mother died in 1998.

Unclaimed Money ”IN TRUST FOR”
My mother died in 1998. She had a bank account in New York that has been turned over to the state and is now unclaimed. I tried to claim it and was given a hold harmless and a loss of passbook (to give to my uncle) because it turns out she left it ”In trust for” her brother. The problem is that I haven’t spoken with my family since her passing. I drove down to see him and tried to call a couple of times with no avail. He did in fact tell me that I could receive it when she passed but I had to due certain thing that I was not willing to do. My question is, if I hire an attorney, what are my chances of receiving this money? Can I fight an “In trust for” bank account, even if it’s just sitting in Unclaimed?

What exactly is ”customary indemnification”? This is the context I have:

The Company shall not, and shall not permit any of its Subsidiaries to, directly or indirectly, create or become or remain liable with respect to any Contingent Obligation except (a) Contingent Obligations in respect of customary indemnification and purchase price adjustment obligations incurred in connection with sales of assets…

Thank you!!!

Limitation of Liability/Indemnification Hi There: I have started to purchase…

Limitation of Liability/Indemnification
Hi There:

I have started to purchase legal forms for when I am contracting for other companies as a consultant in the networking/computer repair field.

I would like to know if Limitation of Liability and indemnification are the same, or would you recommend that I have forms for both. Please advise as I need to be able to protect myself legally should anyone decide to take legal action against me now and in the future.

If you can advise as to what I need to think about apart from this, it would be appreciated.

Thanks for your time in this matter.
