Can He Raise My Rent after 6 months?
When my family moved here, my boyfriend and I signed
a year lease, the house was for sale. So his girl-
friend comes over with a 6 month lease, we signed
knowing it was wrong because we didn’t trust them.
Now that our lease is up, he raises the rent $70 and
wants to change our lease to month to month. He claims the money will be for repairs.I doubt it and
it is getting messy! My lease is up 7/28, if I don’t
sign it can he evict us? It is a 12% increase, we’ve
payed on time, if not early, and are good tenants.My
lease says he has 120 days to notify us of nonrenewal.He is breaking his own contract,and has
not gave me a moments of peace. HELP!!

Tenant shows up without a lease, landlord allows move in with payment of rent, landlord is leary of financial capability and prepares month to month lease, security is to be split in three payments. Tenant refuses to sign lease, constantly accues landlord of absurd things such as furniture theft and assorted other nonsense. Tenant calls police and says landlord enters without permission calls lawyer and says they are moving in 2 weeks tells police same. Landlord prepares notice to vacate, tenant says they are not moving for 45 days and the 2 weeks was a notice they were giving a months notice. This is a brand new home worth over $500,000 what can the landlord do?

oral sublettor wont leave or pay rent!
Long story short, I had to sublet the living room of my 1 bedroom apartment to a guy named Peter. Peter and I had an oral agreement. Peter (by his own choice) paid rent in cash, and did not sign anything= thus we only have an oral agreement.

Peter has been a real asshole: late rent payments, inconsiderate, etc.

anyway, he agreed to leave the apt by May 1st, as I will be leaving the apt then too. I have a month to month lease w/ the landlord. I will be going to Germany in May and need my deposit. Peter left me a message saying I’ll have to evict him b/c he doesnt want to leave by May. I need my deposit! The landlord doesnt know about Peter, but the landlord’s secretary knows about Peter’s presence. Im pretty sure the lease I have with landlord says no other occupants.

Anyway, this guy Peter is being a real asshole and threatened to stay at the apt and make my life hell. For one thing, I am the one of the lease, and my deposit is on the line. Even if I dont return Peter’s desposit, he will be living rent free on my credit! Any advice? Please help!!!
