I am currently living in someone’s basement renting from them. The land and house that I lived in was bought by another couple and they are terminating the lease; we have to move out by may 31st. I found out april 25th so I am trying to move out tomorrow. I told my landlord today and he said i broke the lease which was month to month is that the case? how did i break the lease if we already have to leave anyway? am i supposed to stay for the month of may or can i leave and only pay for the days i was here?

I have rented a condo for approx. 3 years and am on month to month. The condo owner gave me 3 days notice of intent to sell and listing agent promptly installed a lock box on my door. I have pets and so far the dog is scared to death! My question is: do they have to give me a certain amount of notice and can they enter whenever and with however many people. they have also gotten rid of the property manage i dealt with and given my deposit to the condo owner brother. Help.

two people rent an apartment, one moves out, you have to break the lease, landlord says he will sue if i dont pay the remainder of the lease what can i do?

We have a situation dealing with lead paint. As a rentor on a month to month lease, we have given owner over 30 days notice. Can we use security deposit as last month’s rent? Owner would not correct peeling & flaking paint even when advised in writing of the condition. Owner did not give us any info regarding lead paint in house when we signed lease. Owner said house had no lead paint but lead test we did proves it does. Owner never gave us receipt for security deposit but have my cancelled check. Owner is harassing us at work.

my son bought a business and took over the lease from the prior owner. 1 1/2 years remain on lease.lessor came in Friday and said if you can sell equipment and be out in 2 weeks I will squash the lease. He wants to sell building. My son asked him what happens to all the money I put into this business, he said oh well! My son is very upset, now he will have a business with no building and no money to move equipment someplace else. it is an autobody shop.
