rent statements
we have been informed that in 2007 that no longer will rent statements will be sent out to tenants and if we are paying after the 5th we owe $20.00 more can we ask for a receipt as I do not trust the management people here and if they refuse what can I do?
I was told that I could demand a statement for my records to be sent to me each month or I would not pay till I got one we do not have a lease just month to month and now they charge water per person occupying the mobile home units which they do not own only space is leased.

Notice to Vacate Requirements
On 06/01/05, my lease expired and we moved to a month to month lease. I had previously informed my landlord in a detailed conversation that we had that it was my intent to vacate on 07/31/2005. However on 06/07/2005 when the issue came up again, she informed me that in spite of the conversation that we had, and of the fact that she was aware of my intent to move out on 07/31/2005, due to the fact that she had not received a 60 day written notice to vacate by 05/31/2005, we were obligated for the rent through the end of August. She indicated that even though we were now on a month-to-month basis, the lease indicated that we were still required to give a 60 days notice. However, according to Minnesota Statute 504B, since we are no longer under contractual obligation as the lease ended on 06/01/05 we are considered “Tenants-at-willâ€, and as such 504B indicates are only required to provide a 30 day written notice to vacate. Since there is a conflict between the lease terms which require a 60 days notice to vacate and Minnesota Statute 504B which requires a 30 days notice, it was my understanding that Minnesota Statutes would supersede the contract law. Is my understanding of the situation above correct?

Apartment Lease Early Termination
I have to break my apartment lease due to an out of state job relocation. I signed the lease on 01/18/09 and it ends 06/17/09. I have to move out by the end of Feb and on the contract there is an early move out clause penalty stating $735 which is one months rent. On the lease term, its states ”This lease contract will automatically renew month to month unless either party gives at least 60 days written notice of termination or intent to move out” Under these 2 clauses I assumed I would owe only $735 for breaking my lease early but I am told that I would owe 2 months rent ($1470) plus and additional $735 for the early move out penalty clause for a total of $2205. Is this legally justified even though it doesn’t say anywhere on the contract that I would owe 60 months rent? Is there anyway for me to break my lease and just pay one month rent penalty instead of 3 months worth?
