I have rented a home and have kept up the monthly rent payments. The home has a stove, refridigator, washer and dryer. I rent month to month, no lease, but I have lived in this home for years. The stove is in need of repair or replacement. I cannot afford either. I pay my rent on time and have always agreed to increase in rent when asked. Do I have any recouse to have the stove fixed or relaced.

Landlord wants full last month’s rent
Gave written notice on 12th of the month to vacate no later than 12/15/03. Landlord demands full rent on 12/1. I am on a month to month lease after 3 successful, no problem year leases with this landlord. I point out there is no specific statement in lease about giving notice on the last day of the month or any other ”specific” date and therefore chapter 91 Texas Property Code applies outlining rent owed to the 30th day after notice give (12/15 in other words). Landlord disagrees. How can I communicate this point of law without angering landlord?

We signed a lease with a rental agent and the owner sold the house
We signed a years lease with a property agent but the owner
sold the house to a resort and now they want us to go to a month to month. The property agent now says she didnt have the legal right to sign the lease. We have only lived here
for a month. We can not afford to move. We have a new baby.
Do we have any legal rights in this manner. We are also afraid they are going to make up something to evict us.
The lease says if they evict us we have to pay off the lease. Can you help us?
Thank You,
Greg Ellingson

What are my rights? Forced to move
Hello. This morning my apt complex had carpeting being installed 2 floors up at 8am waking me up after only 3 hours sleep as I work late swing shift. I called the office and the lady told me I had to deal with it so I gave her a few choice words then hung up.
A few min later I went to the office and demanded they stop or they would have to have me removed from the office forcibly (I was provided no notice they would be doing this and i understand they didn’t have to inform me).
They agreed to stop the work. I went back to my apt and went to sleep. I woke up to get ready for work to find a 30 day notice on my apartment because of this altercation. I call the main manager and she says they are forcing us out because we had an altercation. Our 6month lease just expired and we are now month to month. What are my rights in this situation since we are being forced out. We have had no prior complaints against us and we have never had any issues prior to this with the apartment complex.
Thank you for any advice you can provide.

Owner requiring monthly renter to sign lease
I have lived in the same apartment for 17 years on a month to month contract. A few years back the place was sold to new owners who continued with a monthly contract. They decided to send a notice that they were selling as individual units and we would be asked to buy or move this summer but decided against it 6 months later after several tenants had moved. They are now requiring us to sign a 12 month lease or move, however we may have to move in less time depending on health of a family member. Is it legal to require a current tenant to sign a lease or would that only apply to new tenants?
