Auto extended warranty
I have a transferable ext warr for car I have sold. I mentioned it to the buyers as a selling point. They offered me 16000, $4000 less than asking price, and never asked about the warranty. I said 17000 was lowest I would go, again no mention of the warranty.

I gave them the title and bill of sale which states ”As Is” and they paid me $17000 (2004 GMC Envoy). After all the hand shaking was done, the man asked when I would be transferring the warranty, as that was a factor in the decision to buy the car. I said I would look into it and get back to them. I called the warranty co. and they tell me I can get a $900 refund. I am NOT going to give the buyer the warranty. Can I get in trouble? I am not a nasty person, but I had another offer for same price and no discussion of warranty. It is usually I that learn the hard way at others gain. This car was a good deal for them, and at least $3000 below book value. Also…they live in Mass and I am in RI…Please help!

Seller’s responsibility in a private used car sale
My husband and I sold an older model car with well over 100,000 miles on it for $2,000.00 The buyer called me six days later to let me know that a head gasket had blown, and asking if we would refund some of the purchase price. The car was sold for $600. less than the asking price, and a bill of sale was signed stating the car was sold in as-is condition, with no warranty written or implied. Are we responsible to help out with any of the bills incurred by the new owner?

Friend Breaches contract
My friend needed a car, wanted mine, so we wrote up a contract stating that she would pay me 3000.00 cash for the car within 100 days or sooner if her property sold, but no later than 100 days. She had her husband sign a bill of sale for collateral (His run down boat)Vehicle/Vessel transfer form signed also.100 hundred days came and went still no money, we collected boat and when Ron (the owner of boat) came promptly over to ask us why??? we took it, we gave it back, we dont want that hassle either. They continued to promise to pay, and when it came time for the property they owned to close, she was supposed to write me in as a debtor but she was angry at the time and decided not to.She didnt tell me this until well after it closed and she didnt tell me, I heard threw the grape vine. She has already sold the car and collected 150 dollars a week on it until it was paid off. Not one dime came to me. I told her she could make payments but she refused. This was in May of 2002 that the deal was set, here it is 2003. I want my money, she is a con artist come to find out and should not get away with this. What can I do???? Please help.

Possibly sold a used car to a minor Sold my used car to a young looking person.

Possibly sold a used car to a minor
Sold my used car to a young looking person. I asked him if he was at least 18 and he said, ”Yes”. I then asked for his driver’s license and he claimed he didn’t have it on him. I sold him the car anyways. I had him sign a contract stating that the car was ”AS-IS” and that I’m not responsible for the car upon it’s delivery to the buyer. We exchanged Title, bill of sale and cash.

My question is, if he is under 18 (which he lied to me) and he then crashes the car and becomes injured, does he (or his parent) have any legal resource against me? Is that contract valid if signed by a minor who knowingly lied about his age?

I’m trying to gauge how worried I should be about this. I called him after the sale, again, to confirm that he was at least 18 and he said he was.

I just bought a car from an individual, He gave me a bill of sale, I went to get a tag for it and the tag office told me there was a lien against the car and I could not get a tag, I informed the seller and he informed me it was my car now and there was nothing he can do. Is there any legal action I can take against this seller?
