How do you determine alimony and child support ?
Ive been married for 18 years to my husband, but we’ve been together for 20. We have 5 children, three are still minors. I have never worked throughout the entire time Ive been with him. How does the court determine the percent of child support for three kids plus alimony ? My husband no longer lives with us,a nd is refusing to pay me anything for the household bills he left behind. He was layed off all winter and the bills have piled up. I have no job skills and have arthritis in both hands and other areas, making it even more difficult to find a job I can reasonably do . Also is a quit claim deed valid in Illinois? An attorney told me that its a useless peice of paper that can be easily reversed at any time ? Is that true? Thank you.

My husband is crack addict. I made him move out early August. Although his name is on my house title, it was financed solely in my name. Need to have his name removed. Don’t want to lose home, as I recently found out he’s $2,500 overdrawn on his checking account. We have no joint accounts. How do I protect myself financially without divorcing him? I’ve got 4 children to support. Please help.

I am in the begining of a divorce after 1 yr of mariage.Here is my story. Me and my wife sold our homes after we got married. She made 190K, I made 70k on our homes. We bought another home together using combined money off our houses. We paid off bills, went on vacation, and just blew most of my money together. In total I only put 20k of my seperate money into the house. She put the entire 190k of her money into the house. Before signing for the new home we decided to put it in my name. Married ”Sole and Seperate property” and she signed a quit Claim Deed due to her bad credit score, and my high score. I have been paying the mortgage with my work income. Does she have right to the house? If so what does she get? What I would be happy with, would be at least me get my entire 70k back. Can I expect 50/50 of entire property or is she getting her entire down payment back, and me only getting my 20k? Please help. What about the Undue Influence law? Does this apply? I am lost, she recently threw all my stuff out and asked me not to come back to the house. I want to avoid confrontation and plan to stay else where untill its all over. Can I evict? Can I use what she did (Throw me out) against her in court

My ex-husband was granted custody of our youngest son, home and property. One of the paragraphs in my final divorce papers states…when our youngest son turns 21 yrs. old my ex-husband will pay me $10,000 for the equity I had in the home and property, at that time I am to sign a Quit Claim Deed. My ex-husband wants me to sign this now, our son is only 17 yrs. old. If I sign the Quit Claim Deed will my ex still be held by law to pay me the $10,000 in 4-yrs.?

My mother married at 83 yrs. she has owned her property as an unmarried woman for over 30 years. Unfortunatly the marriage is not working after just 1 year. She has never put her new husband on title. She wants to Quit claim this porperty over to her children. Can she do this or will the new husband have to sign off on the property now even though he has never bee n on title.
