Community Debt Hold Harmless
My sister’s husband is a deadbeat. She kicked him out 4 months ago for two basic reasons: dishonesty and financial irresponsiblity. She is not prepared for a legal separation or divorce at this time. He has accumulated debts of approx 20,000 (back taxes, loans, etc). Is their some legal form that we could get him to sign where he holds my sister harmless/relieves her of any liability relating to these debts? All debts were incurred while married to my sister, some debt in his name only, some in both their names.

Unpaid Marital Debt
My husband’s ex-wife has not paid her portion of the marital debt from their marriage. She had a credit card (in my husband’s name) that was awarded to her that unfortunately was not paid off prior to the end of their marriage. We are now going into 5 years of escalted harasment and letters from the credit card co.due to her stopping and starting payments. This is the only black mark on my husband’s credit and is affecting it. We know the credit co. does not recognize the decree. Decree states she was to inform and hold harmless. She has never informed per the decree. She has only paid $1100 off in 5 yrs. We have certifed letters from his ex flat out lying that she sent payments and will pay the debt and gets her stories mixed up. To date she has made 1 payment in a year. We have offered her two alternatives to pay it off (she received a $42k inheritence in 1999 that we can prove)or for her to consolidate her debt. Ex continues to lie and harass us. Will a San Antonio court do anything about this or will we be the victims of the law? I refuse to pay the remainder of this debt, $5700, would it be worth even pursuing in court? We need help or solutions to get her to pay this?

Which form should I use
I am US Citizen, reside in Pennsylvania. My former wife with my son lives in Israel. I completely paid the whole amount of child support for my son prior to move from Israel to USA. My former wife asked me to apply for US Citizenship for my son. In order to do that I want to receive from my former wife a statement , which would protect me from any possible financial or legal demands from her in the future. Which form I should ask her to sign, General Affidavit or Indemnity Agreement?
Contempt or Small Claim?
Contempt or Small Claim??
My final judgment in 2001 awarded a vehicle to each of us and to hold harmless the other from debt related to the vehicle (both cars were in both our names). Unknown to me, at the time my ex signed, she was already 4+ payments behind on her car and it was repo’d a few months later. I contacted her and asked her to pay the debt but she refused. Subsequently, my credit is terribly tarnished and I have received a horrible interest rate on a car purchase. Recently during a home purchase I was forced to pay off the remaining balance on this/her vehicle debt and related repo fees in order to proceed with my financing. I want the money back (~$2,000).
I contacted my attorney about representing on this matter as contempt (she failed to maintain the payments and to hold me harmless)-he advised me that I could file a ”motion for entry of judgment” on my own and save attorney costs, therefore get more money back.
My question is: Would this be done in Family Court as a contempt to the current order? Would my current attorney need to withdraw if I appear on my own for this motion? Is/can this be treated as seperate matter from Family Court and be heard in Civil Court as a small claim for breach of contract? My ex will have her attorney.
