I baught a car and can’t get the Title
I purchased a car. I have the bill of sale and paper work to get the title change. The problem is the people that sold the car don’t hold the title/ The person that owns the car doen’t really own it either the bank still holds the title. What can I do to take care of this

Car purchased, title not remitted
I purchased a used car from the owner on ebay and I have the bill of sale and proof of my purchase. The owner had purchased the car and had the proof of sale, but had not put the title in his own name. The title was still in the former owner’s name, but the owner had signed it. Since I had flown to Texas to pick up the car, I decided to complete the transaction. I drove back with the original title, but sent it back to the person I bought it from, along with money to cover the cost of transferring the title, so he could get it in his name and send it back to me. This was in June 2006 and he has not sent the title, despite repeated conversations with him during which he and his wife assured us they had the new title and would send it immediately. Can I take legal action? How can I get a title without resorting to a bonded title?

I bid on and won a 2001 Polaris ATV on ebay. The vehicle is in Ohio; we live in Virginia. The owner tells us he has a Bill of Sale from previous owner, but not a title, as it was unnecessary in Ohio to register off road ATVs until mid 2001. Is this true? If we get a Bill of Sale, can we take it to DMV and get a title in Virginia? How do we check the VIN number on an ATV to be sure it is clear?

Car buying laws
My husband and I have been looking at cars to buy for a couple of months. We are pre approved with our bank for a new car with 5.5% int. at 72 months. I found a car I liked and agreed on a price. My husband was out of town but was in on the neg. stage I signed the bill of sale contract but my husband has not. I have not taken delivery of the car yet. When talking with my bank we found with this car being used we no longer qualify for that interest rate or the 72 months and it will raise our payments 150.00 a month. Are we legally bound to this contract if our bank said no and my husband did not sign yet? (the contract said we can return within 7 days, as I said we have not taken the car yet) Also can they make try and get a loan through them? (I did not let them pull our credit)

Bill of sale has wrong model year and vin number, can the vehicle be returned?
I purchased a used vehicle that I’m sure the owner was aware of several problems that were not apparent at first to me and I want to retun the vehicle. The only way I can see being able to do this is that the bill of sale has the wrong model year, and the vin # is entered incorrectly (missing one letter). Do I have any leverage in asking to return this vehicle, or am I stuck with it? Thanks!
