Satisfaction of Land Contract
We have sold our property on a land contract. The balloon payment for that property is now due. We had our abstract brought up to date and found that the buyers have judgments against them and they have been attached to this property. Can we give them a deed in satisfaction of this land contract if they have the money to pay us equal to the balloon payment? Or do we have the obligation of making them clear up these judgments first?
Re: Satisfaction of Land Contract
In order to answer that question, I would need to read over your sales contract, as well as the actual land contract. You might discover the answer yourself if you read these documents carefully.
