Power of Attorney – Limitations on Use
Several years ago, during a health crisis, my dad gave me a general power of attorney for finances. He got better and I forgot about it. Eleven months ago, he bought a car. A terrible idea. I recently rediscovered the power of attorney. After so long, is there anyway I can undo the deal?

    Unless, your father has diminished mental capacity it is unlikely that you could use the Power of Attorney to attempt to “undo the deal.” Especially, eleven months after the fact. However, if you feel strongly and want to continue, I or another attorney that post here would be happy to help you for a fee.

    A power of attorney does not obligate you to do anything. It simply empowers you. You have no obligation for anthing your father did. Foroget about it.
