Bankruptsy for someone not able to work
My father-in-law recently had major heart surgery, and due to his health cannot work. He has many bills that he cannot pay back in a reasonable amount of time, and is considering bankruptsy. He has nowhere to live, but has the opportunity to purchase a cheap mobile home. Should he make the purchase, then file for bankruptsy, or file for bankruptsy then make the purchase? Or is bankruptsy not advisable? Thank you for your help.

New Owners Will Change Records at Courthouse
We previously owned a mobile home in Illinois. This was sold to a young couple in 2003. We have received the mobile home tax bill every year since. The new owners have always paid the tax, but have not yet bothered to change the records at the courthouse. I know that they need to take the title there in order to get the records changed. I called the manager of the mobile home park and had her relay this information to them. I was told by the courthouse that unless someone brings the title there showing that they are the owners then it will remain in my husband’s name. What can I do about this? We no longer live in the state of Illinois which makes the problem a little more complicated. Thanks

My adopted son has a piece of property that was deeded to him by his biological grand mother she died why he was in prison and his bio mother was living in an old mobile home on the property, that was his grandmas, the moble home has a large attatched rm and porch that is all so attached to a pole barn. Because the deed was for the property and the trailer is not mentioned in any will his mother, because at one time it was titled, says its hers and he cannot live there, because its attached to permanent structures on his land does it make it his?

contest a probate
my adopted mother/grandma passed in may 2004, her son, my father, passed dec 2005. My adopted father passed in 1984. All had wills, and were probated, but I haven’t seen them, nor was I contacted after any death. I am the only child, and I have a daughter. There are condos still in mom’s name, and her son took $ 140,000 cash, 9 condo’s, heirloom jewelry, one pendant worth over $28,000 that she NEVER removed, he purchased a mobile home, a truck, a small boat, had a storage facility full of antique furniture etc., and a safety deposit box. I have been told by the executor that he was deeded my father’s, house, that he ”dug the grave himself” for my mother’s remains, that he new nothing of any of the other things, except that the truck was sold before my father died, and that even though I know there was lake side property in the next county, I only have $5000 from the estate. (He lived across the street form my father). I know my mother had a Lincoln Mach IV, when she died. The condos are handled by an atty in houston that refuses to respond to requests concerning the sale of units, still in mother’s name as of today. There were 4 units last year in her name, now only 2 according to public records. I need Help! Someone is lying !
