    The California probate code does require that you receive a copy of the entire trust if you are named as a beneficiary or if you are an heir to a certain degree (depending on how close of a relative the person that died is). Good luck!

    If you are a beneficiary, the trustee is required to send you a copy of the entire trust document. If you are named but only as a prospective trustee, then it is not a requirement you be given a copy at this time.

    Wayne nailed it. Beneficiary, you can demand to see it. Other capacity you may not be shown the trust.
