Indemnity issue
A community of homes in Florida is governed by an Association of elected homeowners. The Association, among other duties, is charged with the maintenance of the common properties of this community. The Association has routinely hired contractors to perform most of the maintenance. However, on certain projects, several owners have volunteered to accomplish the requiired tasks. This has resulted in much appreciation, personal satisfaction, and, needless to say, much savings.
Is the Association and the community of home owners indemnified or held harmless if one of our owner volunteers becomes seriously hurt while performing a task that he volunteered to do without payment?
Re: Indemnity issue
Indemnified by whom? The association may be sued by anyone. Liability is another issue. If the association has insuranceit may or may not cover the liability you have in mind.
