i recently found out i have an eviction on my credit. the weird part is i have never signed a rental lease/agrreement in my life! i automatically got to thinking about when my mother got evicted back in 2006 from the apartment com[lex i grew up in and where i lived since i was 9yrs old. but it didnt seem right that my name would have been on the eviction papers/documents. i was never served with any papers and never formally evicted, how can this be? other than someone forging my name(i really hope my mother didnt do that!) what other explanation is there for this???? note: i also found my names on the case summary! case # 06C00074 at bellflower court, california
If you were listed as a resident the law requires the landlord to “evict” you, in order to obtain full legal right to take back posession of the apartment. You should be able to clear that up through the credit agencies, but it will probably be a hassle to get it done. It should be something that credit agencies are used to dealing with, though, and eventually you should be able to get them to clear it.
