General Civil
i was in incarcerated at oakland county jail but was on work release. I was continuing to pay my land contract. the landowner broke my lock and went inside the home and took all my personal belongings, including the contract. He installed a new lock. when i got out i had to ask him for the new key and for my personal belongings. he gave me a key but has still not given my my belongings. what kind of action do i have and is the statute of frauds an issue?
Re: General Civil
The statute of frauds applies to when contracts have to be in writing. In this case you should call the police.
