commercial rental lease
my son bought a business and took over the lease from the prior owner. 1 1/2 years remain on lease.lessor came in Friday and said if you can sell equipment and be out in 2 weeks I will squash the lease. He wants to sell building. My son asked him what happens to all the money I put into this business, he said oh well! My son is very upset, now he will have a business with no building and no money to move equipment someplace else. it is an autobody shop.

You son needs to read the lease to determine if the landlord’s demand to vacate is a breach of the contract. Your son may want to visit a lawyer to determine his rights. If he has spent thousands on the business, it may be worth spending a few hundred dollars to obtain detailed legal advice.
