Living will how secure are they?
If a person has a Living Will but does not have a Health Care Rep. or guardian, and becomes unable to make choices about the course of treatment… in IN if a family member request that they want a Full Code… does the living will protect the patient and health care workers for honoring the Living will or do the health care facility or staff honor the families request.

I am the trustee after my mother dies she has said there is a new paper that needs to be signed a
guardianship paper that makes it easier for me to start doing what needs to be done immediately if
something happens to her yes no? where do I get such a paper we are in FL and she seems to be
insisting on this so it will be easier for me. I have everything else Power of Attorney, Living Will,
medical surrogate. I only use the library and was wondering if I can get for on line?

Concerning HIPPA
HIPPA was effective 4/14/03. I am a medicaid caseworker and am concerned now about access to my mother’s health information and my ability to make various applications for her in the future. I am also concerned what provisions my husband and I need to make now to allow an adult child to have access to our health information and take care of any other health related matters on our behalf. Currently, according to our understanding, the only people allowed access, etc. are spouses, parents, payees, POA’s or legal guardians. I called and spoke to a local lawyer who suggested a living will but I do not think his understood my question.Can you advise me concerning what we need to do?
