Adoption
My half sister who is 48 wants my parents to adopt her she has been known to take power of attorney of other relatives. She says she just wants Indian medical benefits. I was wondering can she legally get medical if she is not a direct desendant of my dad(not her ligit father) and also I was wondering if she is adopted and becomes a equal child what kinda powers can she obtain in my fathers estate.

Divorce Law
My wife and I agreed and filed for an uncontested divorce. She has moved out of state before the divorce was processed. In 2002 I inherited a mobile home from my Father and added my wife’s name to the title. She was going to let me keep the trailer. Now she is demanding and running up big debts on my credit cards. She says if I cancel the credit cards she will refile for divorce and demand 50% of our trailer. Can my wife continue to abuse my credit cards indefinely as long as she stays married. She is holding this issue concerning the tiltle of our home over my head.

Type your question here…My Husband and I would like to seek temporary custody of our 2 year old Grandson., Our son was recently incarcerated for criminal domestic violence and making moonshine in his kitchen. Our Grandson stays with us 95% of the time. They have made numerous decisions that would question there parenting skills. I mean making moonshine which is highly flammable in a small kitchen of a mobile home with a 2 year old present? They have also had there power turnedf off numerous times and did not tell us and stayed in 28 degree temps with no heat. My son has drove stone drunk with our Grandson and his wife in the car and she thinks this is ok. Many other incidents TOO numerous ti list. We have kept very detailed documentation of all of this. They get Food stamps and WIC but our Grandson never sees any of this. We buy all of his food and clothing. Would we have a strong case for custody?

Slightly Under-the-Table Adoption
A minor friend of mine is living with an abusive mother. Her mother is also going through hard financial times. She is permanently disabled and has no medical insurance. It has been made clear to me that she can either get social security, which would be five hundred dollars a month, or keep her child support, which is five hundred and twenty-seven dollars a month. The rent for their mobile home is five hundred dollars a month. What my family is thinking of doing is ”adopting her.” What I wish to know is: is there anyway that we can take her into our home without risk of her mother calling the police on us one day. Is there some sort of document that we can get her mother to sign, stating that we are allowed to drive her daughter places, take her to the doctor, sign medical forms for her, etc, while still allowing her mother to receive child-support payments, and to keep her mother from deciding one day that we have kidnapped her daughter?
