Power of Attorney for Elderly Parent
My mother suffers from bi-polar depression. When my father was alive it was not a major problem. He passed away in Feb. and her condition has gotten out of control. When she is up she goes on huge spending sprees. She is now in her down period and has not left the house for months. My brother and I have power of attorney which goes into effect ”when her doctor determines she can no longer make decisions for herself”. How do we get the power of attorney to go into effect if we cannot get her to go to the doctor to be checked out? She needs help immediately. She has lot about 50 pounds in the last 4 months. We need to get control over her health and finances ASAP. Any help you can give would be appreciated.

Power of Attorney My mother gave me power of attorney over four years ago…
Power of Attorney
My mother gave me power of attorney over four years ago through a general power of attorney document. The document designated me an attorney-in-fact and that no guardianship proceeding for property be instituted in the event of her disability. Additionally the document stated it is a durable power of attorney and that any court appointment of a guardian will be me. My mother is currently unable to make decisions but I have found out that she gave someone else power of attorney after me. Which document can be legally invoked and shouldn’t I have received a notice of revocation? If so and I did not receive notice then what?

Which Power of Attorney do I need?
I am trying to purchase a Power of Attorney form for Arkansas that would allow me to make medical and financial decisions for my mother who has Alzheimers while she is alive and she can’t make her own decisions or take care of her current finances. I live in a different state. I saw 3 different forms: Durable Power of Attorney, General Power of Attorney and HealthCare Power of Attorney for Arkansas. Would one of those do all I need (which one?)or do I need more than one? Thanks.
