Motor Vehicle Ownership
In Nov,2001 we sold a car to a couple. They paid cash, refused a bill of sale, were to return following morning to complete transaction. title was in vehicle,7 months later, police impound informs us that our car has been impounded and we need to retrieve it. the title was left early that day at our gate with note please sign need to fix-urgent. We retrieved vehicle and have asked assumed purchaser(not person who orginally purchased from us) to repay all charges pretaining to vehicle. She refused and claims we stole her car. The police had also stripped car of illegal tags. Can we keep the car and ask her to pay charges ? She plans to go to small claims court

Musical rental agreement
I am in dispute with the owner of a former musical rental busniess. During the course of the rental agreement, he went out of business. After a year, he wrote up a buy agreement, which I replied to but no response. Now at two years later,he in demandingg ”back rent” for the entire period after the business dissolved and return of the merchandise. I am willing to retunr the merchandise but am I also liable for ”back rent” to this dissolved business ?

Rental Agreement
I leased a house in my name from August of 2000,until August of 2001. (1 year) Upon expiration of the lease I moved as I had remarried. My deposit was kept of $850.00 as my grown son remained living there. He continued to live there with approval by the landlord who did not require a lease with him, basically on a month to month until August of 2003. My name was not tied to this property any longer after the expiration of my lease in August of 2001.
When I pulled my credit report, it shows that I owe that landlord $9500.00 for damage done long after my lease was complete and certainly not by me. What are my rights? Pray tell as my husband has passed and $9500 means the difference between making it and not.
Thank you!

Collections – Charging Interest
I am a little confused about when a collection agency can charge interest. I have an account in collections relating to move-out charges. I am disputing the charges because they are in error. The rental company turned the account over to a collection agency and they are charging 12% interest per year. In Washington State, doesn’t the rental agreement have to specifically allow them to charge interest? What about collection set up charges?
