Re: spouse power of attorney
A person holding power of attorney for another has a fiduciary duty to act in the best interests of the grantor of the power, and is not permitted to use the power to benefit him/herself.
Trying to change the beneficiary of a life insurance policy for a person on their death bed is extremely likely to result in challenges.
