Termination of lease
After 11 years our landlord has given us three months notice to quit the building, no reasons given. We have an excellent payment history, never once being late. However the lease does say that they do not have to renew the lease. Do we have any grounds for extending the lease to prevent loss of business etc or indeed the hardships that we will certainly incur. Our business is in the fitting of golf clubs professionally and we service clients from around the globe.
Termination of lease
Howdy:
The landlord can terminate the lease for any reason … or for no reason … at the natural end of a lease term, or as provided by statute or the lease agreement if it’s in a month-to-month status.
Assuming he’s abiding by the terms of the lease in giving you notice of non-renewal or non-continuance, then there’s really not much you can do.
Sorry.
