I received an answer to this question the other day – thank you, my next question is if i pay the sometime standard 2 month rent to break the lease, will it go against my credit?

Re: breaking a rental lease
It shouldn’t. But what you should do is sign a mutual release agreeing not to sue each other and including a clause that says s/he won’t report you to the credit bureaus. Then if s/he does, you can sue them for breach and/or “slander of credit” (and probably a few other things).
Hopefully, they’ll be happy to do that in return for not having to chase you for the rent (sue in court and try to enforce a judgment). Good luck!
