power of attorney for child
my father had me sign a general power of attorney for my daughter. what legal rights does that give him, and can he use this in trying to gain custody of my daughter? also, does he need this just to take her to the doctor?
Re: power of attorney for child
You cannot have power of attorney for a child. It should not effect your custody. What you may have done is give permission to your father to obtain medical care for your child. This is often done when the parent or guardian is out of town or otherwise unavailable and the child is in the care of someone else. This is not permanent.
